75% Milestone!


We're back again with another update for our 75% milestone! Let's dive right into what Team Western Dystopia has been cooking up these past few weeks.


Darren worked on the environment art for the Mines section of the game. He chose to go with a muted yellowish tone for the rocky ground. He also worked to make this ground path seamless along with the metal pathway. He also updated the metal path to look much more detailed.





Alex continued to work on sprites for the main character. She is moving onto a side jump animation and we are discussing what else is needed, like a dash and a pointed arm to move with the player's mouse as it shoots at enemies.


Nathan expanded on the level blockout and playtested the level. He moved walls and floors where needed to allow for easier player progression through the level. He also began tiling using the tile sets made by Darren.



Brady got the player's camera fully functional and is easily modifiable to allow for different zoom magnifications, in addition to setting up a basic HP system for the player as well as rudimentary AI and a moderate amount of polish for our first enemy and the player. Below is a video and a collage of most of the new code written for this checkpoint.


Nick started working on the sprites of the six shooter and the potential enemies, such as the blocker-type and shooter enemies. He also created concepts for the currency and health pick-ups.
